40 minute timer
A 40-minute countdown that is ready to go: press Start and it runs down to zero, then chimes. Pause it, reset it, or add a minute when you need more time. The space bar starts and pauses it, and the full-screen button turns it into a big clock for a classroom, a gym or a meeting room.
A 40-minute timer is handy for a lesson, a long study block or baking time.
Questions
How do I set a 40-minute timer?
It is already set — press Start (or the space bar). The timer counts down from 40 minutes and chimes three times when it reaches zero.
Will it keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. The timer counts against the clock rather than counting ticks, so it finishes on time even when the browser slows a background tab down. The tab title shows the time left.
Can I make it full screen for a classroom or a meeting?
Yes — use the full-screen button in the corner of the timer. The numbers scale up so they can be read from the back of a room.
Why is there no sound?
Check that Sound is on and your device is not muted. Browsers only allow audio after you have tapped the page, which pressing Start does.
